We can now export to Cal3D. Go to the website and download the lastest version, or I grab it directly here. Install it.
Contained within the packacge is a 3DSMax script which will export the character to Cal3D format. Download it directly here.
Before we export, we need to set up the following selection sets:
Also, we need to make sure that the textures are in the materials editor. Press 'm' to bring up the materials editor and for each mesh, use the dropper in a separate box.
When you are ready, drag the export_cal3D.ms file into 3DSMax. The following dialog box will appear:
Configure to the above. For now, we will export in XML format which is human-readable. Click 'Export'.
This process will take some time, but the result should be our base Cal3D character.
