First Year Wrap-Up Session. 27/5/99.
-
1B10 - a request for more practical lab sessions. This was an excellent
course.
-
1B11 - a request for more examples early on. There were concerns about
the wide variations in the approaches of the different demonstrators. It
was felt that more prompt support for students who are stuck with programming
would be helpful. The lab sessions were found to be more helpful than the
tutorials. Class tests were helpful.
-
1B14 - there was a complaint that the compulsory coursework was returned
extremely late, long after the course had finished. There was a request
for more practical work, possibly binary marked exercises.
-
B45 - a demanding course, perhaps a little fast for some, but overall considered
to be a successful course.
The course information we provide on the web was appreciated. More notes
on the web were requested. There was concern that there was not enough
option information available to make an informed choice. It was announced
that option registration would take place at the end of September. Questionnaires:
unfortunately there were none available.
