How can I access my provisional results?

The Department of Computer Science displays provisional marks for ancillary students in the Departmental Reception area, 5th Floor Foyer, Malet Place Engineering Building.
The results will be listed by student Candidate Number so you will need to bring your Candidate Card with you to be able to know your results.

When are they released?

We aim to make provisional results available this year by: 28th June 2013

Please carefully note the following:

We are not permitted to communicate marks via email or phone, so please do not ask.
Any information you receive from any department about your results will be strictly provisional. Results are not confirmed until they have been ratified by the UCL Board of Examiners.

If you are not due to complete your studies in the current academic year and you fail a module for the first time (coursework or examination or both) you have the right to re-sit the failed component at the first possible date (normally the next academic year).
If you are due to finish in the current year, (i.e. Undergraduate Finalists and Taught Masters Students), you will only be able to resit a module if you fail to achieve your award.

Please note that Students are only permitted one resit attempt. If the outcome of the resit is also a fail, then this will be the final mark for that module.
If you are eligible for a resit, you will be automatically registered for it on Portico and will be expected to sit any failed exams and submit any failed coursework.

Resit Scenario	Taught PG Students
You still have sufficient credits to progress/be made an award	The default position is that you will be made an award without the option to resit the failed module/s.
You have insufficient credits to progress/be made an award during the current year.	You will normally need to resit or repeat the failed modules the following year.

All students with resits are advised to check their Portico account in September for a list of the exams and coursework that they are expected to complete over the year.
It is your responsibility to confirm to Registry and Academic Services the examinations you wish to re-sit, via on-line module registration using Portico. It is also your responsibility to check with the Department to determine whether you are required to submit new coursework.
UCL regulations state that a candidate must complete the assessment for a module within two years of attending that module. This period of two years may be extended at the discretion of UCL Board of Examiners.
Students who withdraw from an examination owing to special circumstances will not be regarded as having made an entry and therefore would be taking the examination as if for the first time the next academic year. If you have passed the coursework component already, then the marks you achieved will be brought forward.

Referrals are additional assessments given to students who narrowly fail a module
Deferrals are exams that are held for students who legitimately miss an exam during the main period.

Procedure for Applying	Automatic - Eligible students are contacted over the Summer by Email and/or letter.	Students must submit an application within the Registry and Academic Services Deadlines Successful applicants are contacted over the Summer by Email and/or letter.

If you are eligible for either a referral or a deferral, you will be contacted by the department that teaches the module in June/July.
It is especially important to keep your contact details up to date in Portico and regularly check email if you have either of these.

All students who will, if successful in their examinations, qualify for the award of a degree, should note that:

UCL will withhold the award in the case of any student who is in debt to UCL.
This includes any payment due, including tuition and examination fees, fees for UCL residential accommodation and fees to the UCL Library.
No report will be made on the student’s results until the debt has been settled in full and attendance at a Graduation Ceremony will not be permitted unless the whole debt has been cleared by the due date.
All other students who are in debt to UCL will have their official results withheld and/or will not be permitted to enrol at any future session.
