I received my
'Diplom' in computer science from the University of Hamburg
in 1999. During and after my years at U of Hamburg I worked
as an information architect, database designer and as a consultant
for SAT1 and Sport1 in Germany.
Before starting
my PhD at UCL, I worked in the Interactive
Cognition Lab at UCSD for two years on distributed collaboration. Previous incarnations have seen me working as a photographer (Ahrensburger Zeitung),
DJ (Zillo/Tonwerk), game inventor (kick ran, various quizzes and CD-ROM products), editor (ran SAT1 fanguide), and football analytical observer and statistician (IMP).
I enjoy being on the program committee uxTV and EuroITV conference (2007-) and have been involved in various workshops and tutorials on Quality of Experience in mobile TV (EuroITV'06), TV-centric services (2008), TV-centric UX (EuroITV'09) and Mobile UX (CHI'09).
I have reviewed for conferences (IWQoS, ACM Multimedia, CHI, EuroITV) and journals (Convergence, Decision Support Systems, Springer's Multimedia Tools and Applications Series and Annals of telecommunication).
