Since September 2009 I have been working at EPFL's Media and Design Lab with Jeffrey Huang. I'm working on an ICT4Development project called Common Sense Net 2.0 with our Indian partner institute CEDT at IISc in Bangalore. We are developing a mobile application for illiterate farmers that allow them to receive and exchange agricultural advice.
I'm also teaching the Personal Interaction Studio course at EPFL focussing on mobile interaction design and user experience in mobile applications. You can find the class here. Drop me an email for guest access. In 2011 three of my students were selected to represent Switzerland at the Microsoft Imagine Cup - a student competition to meet the Millenium Development Goals. You can find the corresponding blog about the EasySMS application for illiterate people here.
