The topic is "Photogrammetry of Buildings", which means we try to reconstruct the 3D structure of buildings from images. In the first year of the degree, I attended lectures in the following courses: Advanced Rendering, Modeling and Animation, Virtual Environments, Computational Photography and Machine Vision. In the compulsory EngD group project, Maciek Gryka, Jessica Wardlaw and myself performed user tests to find out how 3D models influence the interpretation of thermal images. To do so, we developed a system, which creates a rough 3D model of a building and applies thermal images as the texture to the building. The tests showed that the thermal images are easier to interpret when they can be seen on the structure of the building rather than just having the images.
