Description: CCS, established in 1963 in Sabadell (Barcelona), is the leading Software Engineering company in Spain. With more than thirty years experience in the computer sector, CCS is a pioneering computer services company. CCS has 21 offices throughout Europe and 1,150 staff members. This structure has led the company to have nearly 10,000 customers. Forecasts for this year expect a turnover of over 10,000 million pesetas. CCS offers one of the largest software tenders in Europe, including standard products, bespoken solutions, integrated tools designed to serve specific requirements, systems engineering, communications technology and consultancy, maintenance and training services. All products have versions in different languages and are perfectly adjusted to the needs of a common market. On the international front, CCS has entered Europe as a majority shareholder of different companies in Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands. This combination of companies from different countries allows to provide solutions to the needs of local companies and international enterprises established in different European countries. All these companies together are currently developing a large Pan European Project in order to service the needs of all EU markets. The goal for next year is to be also present in Germany. Specially relevant to CCS's continuous growth in national and international markets are the resources invested in R&D, which are nearly 7% of the company's turnover.

CCS PARTICIPATION IN EUROPEAN PROGRAMMES - CXM, a powerful DBMS developed by CCS in a joint-venture with a USA company. - IDEAS, IDEAS-PLUS: partially funded by the Spanish government under PEIN Programme. Its objective was to develop a CASE environment supporting a 4th generation language, adding Multimedia capabilities on it. - SMART: CCS/SCYT, a CCS subsidiary company, was prime contractor for this ESPRIT I project related to real time systems. - MACS: CCS was a partner in this ESPRIT II project in which an environment for assisting the software maintainer was developed. - TRADE: CCS is prime contractor of a MLAP/93 project in which a translator demonstrator is being implemented. - EDISE: CCS is partner of a PASO project related to security being added to the CCS EDI workstation. - EUROLANG: within EUREKA framework, CCS developed a NL to SQL translator. - PEP (CCS PAN-EUROPEAN PROJECT): It is a joining effort of all CCS Group in order to create a high-quality and user-friendly international software package which is flexible and adjustable to different countries and requirements. - CCASE: CCS is prime contractor of a Spanish PASO project (within ESPRIT III) in which a CASE environment supporting advanced technologies is being developed.

Name: J.M.Espejo
Nationality: Spanish
Academic Qualifications & Experience: Mr. Espejo hods an MBA(European University, 1994), a Superior Engineering degree in Telecommunications(Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, 1989) and a Technical Engineering degree(Universidad Ramon Llull, 1985). Since 1992, he has been working at the Centro de Calculo de Sabadell, S.A. (CCS), being responsible for European programs and having participated the development of a CASE tool, an automatic environment of client/server translation, data capturing facilities and a natural language translator for SQL. Also, he has been lecturing at the MSc in Software Engineering of the Institut Catala de Tecnologia, since 1993. From 1987 to 1989, he was member of the PADD project team on real-time systems development tools at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya.

Academic Qualifications & Experience: Mr. Freixanet holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science(Universitat Politˆcnica de Catalunya, 1990). Since 1990, he has been working at the Centro de Calculo de Sabadell, S.A. (CCS) as a systems technician. He has participated in the development of an assistence environment for the software maintainance, an intelligent and adaptable CASE tool and a natural language translator for SQL. He is involved in the dissemination of advanced technologies inside the company.
