Description: GENESiS was established in 1988 with the goal of providing information technology for banking and finance. Today the company employs 80 people. It is specialized in the development of customer specific branch automation systems, covering the traditional "front office", cross selling and consumer loan applications. Special knowledge has been developed regarding OS/2 and client/server solutions. In addition to turn-key projects, GENESiS also acts as sub-contractor or systems integrator for other organizations. Its activities are spanned mainly accross central Europe, South Africa and Far East.
Due to the size (typically 20 to 100 manyears) and the technical and/or organizational complexity(nhomogenous system environment integration into banking IT systems and organisations, close cooperation with customers' IT departments and/or other project partners) of its projects, GENESiS has a strong interest and need for efficient requirements engineering.

Name: I. Schaumuller-Bichl
Nationality: Austrian
Academic Qualifications & Experience: Dr. Schaumuller is the head of the Competence Centre IT Security of GENESiS GmbH. Her central tasks are risk analysis; development of security concepts, analysis of customer specific requirements, evalution of products and solutions with respect to such requirements, integration of security funtions and mechanisms into banking solutions and consulting on card techniques. Dr. Schaumuller is also a reader in Computer Security at the University of Klagenfurt and the University of Linz.
She has been involved with research projects on crypthography at the University of Linz and project planning and coordination in a large software project (300 manyears) of a steel company. She has also been the head of development of hardware and software security products. Her research interests include cryptography, IT security, analysis and design of complex distributed secure systems smart cards.
Dr. Schaumuller was the Austrian coordinator of the EUREKA project 153 OASIS (Open And Secure Information Systems) and representative in IFIP TC11. She is head of the OCG-working group on IT Security and head resp. member in standardisation groups (ÖNORM). Dr. Schaumuller is also member of the editors group of the publication series "Sicherheit in der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik" of B.I.-Wissenschaftsverlag, Germany, and has been authored a book on IT security management.
