 Brüel & Kjær is organised in independent business units under a Holding Company, and with a common Production Division. The business units are responsible for all aspects of product development, sales, and service for individual segments of the market. The business units are:

The business unit that will take part in the network as a representative for the whole of Bruel & Kjaer is the Industrial Measurements Division which is dedicated to the market segments for: The Software Technology and Process Improvement Department where the research in connection with the network will take place is part of the Industrial Measurements Division. The department is responsible for supporting the R&D function of the division with methods, tools, and accompanying metrics to improve the development process with particular focus on software development. This is done through internal research projects and experiments, as well as through EU supported research projects under the BriteEuRam and ESSI programmes. The experiences gained are dissemminated by the department to the other R&D functions of the business units of Brüel & Kjær.

 Currently the department is involved in the following EU projects: A Practical Approach to Concurrent Engineering (BriteEuRam: PACE) The Prevention of Errors through Experience-Driven Test Efforts (ESSI: PET).

Academic Qualifications & Experience:

Otto Vinter has managed large real-time software development projects for more than 25 years. He has an extensive knowledge of the problems and pitfalls associated with developing industry-strength software products in a multidiscipline environment.For a number of years he has been the driving force in defining the development activities required to secure a quality development process at Bruel & Kjaer. He is now managing the Software Technology and Process Improvement Department.
