Academic Qualifications & Experience: Paolo Ciancarini is Associate Professor of Computer Science. He received his PhD. in Informatics from the University of Pisa in 1988, and has held a position at the University of Pisa before coming to Bologna in 1992. His research interests include: parallel and distributed programming languages and systems, formal methods in software engineering, logic programming, programming environments design. He is one of the main proponents and responsible for the Univ. of Bologna site of the ESPRIT BRA Project COORDINATION on Coordination models and languages. He worked on Software Process Modeling and on the specification and design of distributed multiuser programming environments. He is author of over 30 papers and two books.
