I attended a meeting hosted by Kevin Ryan at the University of Limerick. Other participants were Carlo Ghezzi of the Politecnico di Milano and Alex Wolf of the University of Colorado. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss preliminary plans and requirements for ICSE 2000 and possible role of requirements engineering in the conference.

ICSE is the premier international conference on software engineering and it will be a great achievement to have it at Limerick. It will be a chance to showcase Ireland's active software industry. We also met with Hans Jurgen Kugler of Q-Labs (Belfast) to discuss how best to involve industrial concerns in the conference activities.
