Abstract:

This report summarises the achievements and results of the FlowThru project, which ran from March 1998 to February 2000. This EU funded R&D project investigated techniques for implementing integrated telecommunications management processes from existing reusable components. It applied this to business processes identified by the TeleManagement Forum and used components based on TINA-C specifications that had been implemented in other projects from the EU’s ACTS programme. This report presents the guidelines that resulted from this work, which addressed a suitable development methodology and integration technology for the problem domains. This report also reviews the design and experience gained in actually applying these guidelines with the project in three separate trial systems that implemented business processes performing integrated network and service management tasks.
