UCL has been working on the use of Virtual Environment within phobia
treatment and research for a
number of years now. Previous work focussed on social phobias
and we have been collaborating on a number of experimental and pre-clinical
trials on the utility of immersive virtual environments in treating
these conditions.
Within EQUATOR we are expanding our research
to include agoraphobia and post-traumatic stress disorder. This will
be within the urban context, using
simulations of crowded spaces that are being further developed
by equator and also
large model rendering for urban contexts.
Currently several studies are currently being undertaken
with Equator's assistance:
