Previous to this, I spent time working as a Research Fellow on a couple
of UCL Computer Science projects: Android and Radioactive
(active network'ish type research). And before that, received my PhD
from UCL-CS with Jon Crowcroft as my advisor.
In a previous life, I was a PI (and sometime PM) on a number of
research projects -- some internal to SAIC, and others external to organizations
like NRL/DARPA and NSF. My first participation with the IETF started in 1990, when
I was involved in the collaborative effort on Inter-Domain Policy Routing (IDPR).
And once upon a time, I even did some coding for some DoD military networks.
I've taught a course on Emergency Communications at Johns Hopkins
University, and am also a consultant to a few organizations on
this topic.
