Title: Enhanced Vision System to Improve Safety in Robotic Minimally Invasive Surgery
Abstract:
This presentation will provide an overview of my PhD research project, which is focused on the development of a vision system aimed at enhancing the surgeon capabilities during robotic minimally invasive surgery. The rationale of the project is the need to overcome the narrowed endoscopic field of view in laparoscopic surgery and in particular, to preserve delicate areas during the surgery. A long-term tracking algorithm able to track area of interests has been developed. The 2D tracking algorithm combined with a dense 3D reconstruction algorithm can allow the definition of 3D constraints.

Title: Enabling large-scale, robust, and secured data management and processing using state of the art analysis
Abstract:
During this presentation, I will describe the approach deployed within TIG for large scale data management and efficient data processing using state of the art analysis tools. This approach relies on XNAT, initially developed at Washington University and the Distributed Automation for XNAT (DAX) package, developed at Vanderbilt University.
