If you want to change degree programme during the academic session then you should seek the necesary permissions before you make an application to do so; if approved, the application must be made formally via Portico by no later than 31 October.

Transferring to another UCL degree
If you want to transfer from a Computer Science degree programme to one in another department, you must first discuss this with your Computer Science Programme Director and with the Programme Director of your intended department.
Computer Science will not usually accept transfers onto its programmes from students studying in other departments due to the popularity of its programmes (which are usually at maximum subscription.) Similarly, it is usually not possible to transfer betwen degrees within Computer Science, except in relation to the undergraduate variants below.
Transferring between the BSc and MEng Computer Science
The BSc and MEng Computer Science share a common curriculum in Years 1 and 2, therefore students may be permitted to transfer between the two programmes subject to permission from the Year Co-ordinator. Agreement from the Year Coordinator must be confirmed before applying to transfer through Portico.
- The deadline to transfer from BSc Computer Science to MEng Computer Science is the Friday before the last day of Term 3 of the BSc Year 2.
- The deadline to transfer from MEng Computer Science to BSc Computer Science is the day before the start of Term 1 of the MEng Year 3.
Transferring to the BSc/ MEng with Industry Placement (Extra-Mural Year )
Students on the BSc/ MEng Computer Science or MEng Mathematical Computation entering who wish to transfer to an EMY variant should first seek advice from Dr Graham Roberts (email@example.com) and the Placements Manager, Dr Yun Fu (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Transferring to the MEng International Programme (Study Abroad Year)
Students on the BSc/ MEng Computer Science or MEng Mathematical Computation entering Year 2 who wish to transfer to the MEng (International Programme) should discuss this with the Study Abroad Tutor, Dr Earl Barr (email@example.com); you will first need to have an interview with the Study Abroad Tutor, who will then make a decision on whether your can apply to transfer.
