Entry Requirements

  • The MSc is designed for people who have a first or upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a highly quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or the Physical Sciences. 
  • Industrial experience may compensate for lesser degrees or lack of technical qualification. 
  • Successful candidates will have proven experience with programming languages such as C/ C++, Java or Python. 
  • Applicants should have a strong foundation in mathematics including vector and matrix algebra, calculus, and probability and statistics. 

Alternative Criteria

  • Candidates from programmes that do not include all of the above elements may be admitted based on demonstrated programming skills (e.g. through professional projects) and a strong ability to learn (e.g. First level marks).
  • Candidates may offer electronic/electrical engineering or other engineering/science degrees with at least two years of professional experience as a software developer. Such applicants may be admitted based on demonstrated programming skills and a strong ability to learn. 

   

English Language Requirements (needed in addition to above requirements)

GCSE English Language: 
Pass at grade C

IELTS: International English Language Testing System: 
Overall grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests

TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language:

  • Internet-based:
     Score of 94, plus 24/30 in the reading and writing subtests and 23/30 in the listening and speaking subtests.
