Our Students

On average there are 20-25 students on the M.Sc. each year. We aim to keep the numbers reasonably low so that students have the best possible experience in the research project.

Roughly one third of our students are from the UK, one third from Europe and the remaining students from elsewhere in the world.  Typically, the male:female ratio is about 3:1.  Most of the students are usually in their mid-to-late 20's as is typical for M.Sc. courses.

Most of our students have undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering, maths, physics or computer science.  However, we have on occasion admitted students with first degrees in other areas such as psychology.  However, you will have to work hard to convince us that you have sufficient experience in mathematics and programming to be admitted with this type of background.

Some students have already completed an M.Sc. or even a Ph.D. in another area, and are using the course as a way to change the direction of their career.
